D-Lab Zamorano creates sustainable solutions to solve development challenges. The D-Lab projects Zamorano can focus on these areas include:

• Appropriate Technology applied to horticulture and farming life: pumping, irrigation, post-harvest, seed drying, food processing.
• Production of renewable energy: biogas, solar, wind, biofuels, charcoal, biochar.
• Water harvesting, sustainable housing, waste management.

During this time, students learn about project framing, project feasibility and design processes.
